Still counting my blessings!

By Younas Chaudhary

In this season of remembrance, gratitude, and reflection, I want to acknowledge all those who have helped me in so many ways at various phases of my life. Prophet Muhammad (Peace and Blessings be Upon Him), said: “He who does not thank people, does not thank God”. I want to thank everyone who came into my life, guided me, advised me, prayed for me, and taught me the true value of punctuality, contentment, compassion, let it go, positivity, and hard work.

My parents were simple folks who taught me to be a God-loving person, a helping hand, and to be humble and respectful of others. My wife, a remarkably simple and kind person, was my backbone behind the scenes for over four decades before she became ill. My children along with immediate family members have moved me with their love.

My co-workers keep the business running smoothly, efficiently, and profitably, starting from the front office to engineers, accountants, attorneys, maintenance techs, field staff, and all the support work force. Caregivers at my home look after my wife around the clock to comfort her in her present state of Dementia and Parkinson’s Disease. I feel truly blessed for all my family, coworkers, lenders, landowners, vendors, and great friends who wish me well, pray for me, let it go, and continue to be a source of blessings for me.

As I consider all of my ongoing blessings, I am unable to keep count of them. I am blessed with good health, the resources to do good for others, and to be able to connect with my creator through all God’s beauty around us.

Once again, I wish to express my utmost gratitude and appreciation, as I have realized that most great things are achieved by standing on the shoulders of others. Stay Blessed!
